Adds disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity to the list of protected classes under Mississippi hate crime enhancement statutes (Sections 99-19-301, 99-19-305, and 99-19-307).

Allows penalty enhancement for felonies or misdemeanors committed because of the actual or perceived disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity of the victim.

Maintains existing protections for victims targeted based on race, color, ancestry, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, or employment as law enforcement officer, firefighter, or emergency medical technician.

Requires jury to find beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant maliciously committed the offense with specific intent because the victim was within a protected class to impose enhanced penalties.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
