State Workforce Investment Board shall create a separate list of industry-recognized high-value certifications for community and junior college participants, developed in consultation with the Mississippi Community College Board, Mississippi State University Research and Curriculum Unit, and business/industry stakeholders.

List shall align with the approved State Workforce Investment Board K-12 industry certification list to connect secondary career preparation with postsecondary opportunities.

Mississippi Community College Board shall pay $600 per student in career and technical education incentive grants for community college students who earn qualifying industry certifications, beginning in fiscal year 2026, subject to available funding.

Community colleges cannot be reimbursed for students who obtained the same certification from secondary or postsecondary institutions previously.

If total grants exceed available appropriated funds, grant amounts per student shall be reduced proportionately; costs from one fiscal year may be claimed and reimbursed in the following year.
