Authorizes advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to certify cause of death and sign death certificates instead of a physician if the APRN was the primary caregiver before the patient's death

Authorizes physician assistants to certify cause of death and sign death certificates instead of a physician if the physician assistant was the primary caregiver before the patient's death

Applies only when the APRN or physician assistant was the primary person who attended to the care of the decedent before death occurred

Becomes effective July 1, 2025
