Authorizes chancery courts to issue temporary domestic abuse protection orders, in addition to municipal, county, and justice courts.

Temporary domestic abuse protection orders issued by any court shall not exceed 30 days, except when parties have no minor children in common, allowing orders up to one year.

Establishes that appeals from municipal or justice court temporary orders proceed by trial de novo in chancery court within 10 days, while appeals from county court temporary or final orders proceed on the record.

Permits chancery courts to accept petitions for domestic abuse protection orders without requiring petitioners to first seek emergency relief in lower courts.

Effective date: July 1, 2025.
