Increases maximum compensation for counsel appointed to represent indigents in circuit court from $1,000 to $3,000 per case.

Increases maximum compensation for cases not in a court of record from $200 to $600 per case.

Increases maximum compensation in capital cases from $2,000 to $6,000 per case (where two attorneys may be appointed).

Increases maximum compensation for appeals to the State Supreme Court from $1,000 to $3,000 per case.

Provisions expire and are repealed on July 1, 2028; act takes effect July 1, 2025.
