Authorizes local law enforcement agencies to enter into memorandums of understanding with independent nonpublic schools to employ school resource officers (SROs), requiring a minimum of one SRO per independent nonpublic school campus.

Requires individuals employed as security guards, SROs, or peace officers at independent nonpublic schools who are not sworn law enforcement officers to complete basic law enforcement training within two years of employment, or lose authority to exercise peace officer powers.

Defines "independent nonpublic school" as a nonpublic school in Mississippi that is a MAIS member, accredited by a state/regional/national organization, and not subject to State Board of Education authority unless accredited by the board.

Amends Section 21-19-49 to allow municipalities and sheriffs' departments to contract with governing boards of independent nonpublic schools for law enforcement services and allows municipalities to donate funds and equipment to nonpublic schools.

Amends Section 17-25-11 to exempt municipal and county law enforcement officers employed as SROs at nonpublic schools from indemnification and liability requirements that normally apply to off-duty private security employment.
