MS HB901

Increases the salary of each Mississippi Senator and Representative, effective January 1, 2029, to an amount equal to 15% of the Governor's annual salary as established in Section 25-3-31.

Replaces the current fixed compensation of $10,000 per regular session with a salary tied to the Governor's compensation.

Maintains existing mileage allowances, per diem rates of $75 per day for extraordinary or called sessions, and monthly expense allowances of $1,500.

Updates gender-specific language in the statute by changing "his" to "his or her" in references to legislators' and the Lieutenant Governor's office terms.

Takes effect July 1, 2025, with salary changes beginning January 1, 2029.
