House Bill 920 Summary

• Authorizes distinctive motor vehicle license tags for supporters of eight new organizations: Declaration of Independence Center for the Study of American Freedom at University of Mississippi, Mississippi Land Bank, Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District of Kiwanis International, National Guard Association of Mississippi, Mississippi College School of Law, Magnolia Honeybee Education Exchange, Promote Peace Foundation/Mississippi Rotary Clubs, and Jackson State University 2024 HBCU National Champions.

• Authorizes distinctive motor vehicle license tags for retired members of the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, effective July 1, 2025.

• Establishes an additional $30.00 annual fee for new distinctive license tags, with $24.00 distributed to beneficiary organizations, $1.00 to Mississippi Burn Care Fund, $2.00 to State Highway Fund, and $1.00 to a special fund created in Section 27-19-44.2.

• Reauthorizes distinctive motor vehicle license tags for Pascagoula High School, Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation, and public community/junior colleges, extending deadlines to July 1, 2025 or 2028 for satisfying purchase requirements.

• Adds Mississippi Land Bank tags to Section 27-19-44 requirements, mandating proof that 100 tags will be purchased before issuance; effective July 1, 2025.
