Amend Section 273 of the Mississippi Constitution to change how signature requirements from each congressional district are calculated for initiative petitions.

Replace the fixed one-fifth (1/5) signature requirement per congressional district with a pro rata calculation divided by the current number of congressional districts in existence when the petition is filed.

Maintain the overall 12% signature threshold based on votes for Governor in the last gubernatorial election for qualifying initiative petitions.

Propose the amendment for voter approval at the November 2026 general election.

Ballot explanation states the amendment "conforms the pro rata signature requirements of congressional districts for initiative petitions to the current number of congressional districts."
