Commemorates the life and distinguished 36-year career of former Mississippi House Speaker Pro Tempore Robert George Clark, Jr., who passed away on March 4, 2025.

Honors Clark as the first African American elected to the Mississippi Legislature in the 20th century in 1967, breaking nearly a century of racial exclusion.

Recognizes Clark's legislative achievements including chairing the House Education Committee for a decade, leading passage of the 1982 Education Reform Act and 1984 Vocational Education Reform Act, and serving as Speaker Pro Tempore beginning in 1992 (the first African American to hold this position).

Acknowledges Clark's community service including founding Central Mississippi, Inc. and the Milton Olive III Memorial Corporation as antipoverty programs, and organizing the Holmes County 21st Century Commission.

Expresses deepest sympathy to Clark's family and directs that copies of the resolution be provided to his family and the Capitol Press Corps.
