Commends Lilly Overby of Mendenhall, Mississippi, a junior at Simpson County Academy, for being named the 2024-2025 Gatorade Mississippi Girls Cross Country Player of the Year, the first student from her school to receive this award.

Recognizes Overby's athletic achievements including finishing unbeaten in in-state competition, winning the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Class 5A state meet, and posting the third-fastest girls prep 5K time in state history at 17:53:30.

Notes Overby's academic excellence with a 3.68 GPA and school leadership as class president for five years, chapel leader, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes member.

Acknowledges her community service as a member of Mendenhall's Mayor's Youth Council, Hoby Mississippi Leadership Ambassador, and volunteer with Operation Christmas Child and Diamond Dolls.

Directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to Lilly Overby and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
