Commends Jackson State University's "Sonic Boom of the South" marching band and Director Dr. Roderick Little for their performance at the 136th Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2025, in Pasadena, California.

Recognizes the band as the sole HBCU band to perform in the 2025 parade, which was broadcast on NBC and reached over 850,000 parade attendees and millions of viewers.

Notes the band's 300 student musicians performed at the 44th annual Rose Bowl band fest on December 30, 2024, prior to the parade performance.

Highlights the band's history dating to 1948 and notable performances including the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII halftime show with Usher, the 2021 Presidential Inauguration Parade, and appearances on ABC's Good Morning America.

Directs the resolution be furnished to the band director, Jackson State University President Marcus Thompson, the Board of Trustees of IHL, and the Capitol Press Corps.
