West Point High School Green Wave football team won the MHSAA Class 5A State Championship with a 28-21 victory over Gautier High School on December 6, 2024, at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg.

This championship is West Point's 13th state title, the most in Mississippi high school football history, surpassing Louisville High School's previous record.

Senior running back Shamane Clark earned Most Valuable Player honors with 168 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries; the team totaled 265 rushing yards on 46 carries with four touchdowns.

Head Coach Brett Morgan, in his first year as head coach after serving as offensive coordinator, led the team to overcome an early deficit by scoring 21 unanswered points.

House of Representatives commends the West Point High School Green Wave Football Team and Head Coach Brett Morgan for their championship achievement and service to their school and community.
