Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha as the oldest Greek letter organization in the United States, founded January 15, 1908, at Howard University, now operating in 10 regions globally

Acknowledges Mississippi's 36 graduate and undergraduate chapters working under five thematic areas: Empower Our Families, Build Our Economic Wealth, Enhance Our Environment, Advocate for Justice, and Uplift Our Local Community

Highlights the sorority's 116-year history of community service and advocacy, including efforts to reduce youth suicide and preventable maternal deaths during pregnancy and childbirth

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to state, regional, and national leadership of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Capitol Press Corps
