Changes the Commissioner of Insurance from an elected position to an appointed position by the Governor with Senate advice and consent, effective July 1, 2025.

Allows the current elected Commissioner to serve until their term ends or the office is vacated, with new appointments to serve six-year terms.

Requires the Commissioner to be a Mississippi resident, at least 30 years old, hold a bachelor's degree, and have insurance industry experience and demonstrated administrative ability.

Prohibits the Commissioner from holding any other public office and immediately vacates the position if the Commissioner becomes a candidate for public office.

Removes the requirement that the Governor approve the Commissioner's appointment of a Chief Deputy Commissioner.
