MS SB2081

Removes "willful and obstinate" language from the desertion ground for divorce, requiring only "continued" desertion for one year.

Adds a thirteenth ground for divorce allowing courts to grant divorce when finding an irretrievable breakdown of marriage and that further reconciliation attempts are impractical, futile, or not in the best interests of the parties or family.

Increases the total number of recognized divorce grounds in Mississippi from twelve to thirteen.

Effective July 1, 2025.
