MS SB2154

Establishes staggered initial terms for Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board members: Governor appointees serve one, two, and three-year initial terms; Lieutenant Governor appointees serve one, two, and three-year initial terms; State Superintendent appointee serves a two-year initial term.

Requires all board members to serve three-year terms after their initial staggered terms expire, with a limit of two consecutive terms per member.

Changes the deadline for initial appointments from September 1, 2013 to July 1, 2025.

Modifies the authorizer's funding to receive "up to 3%" (instead of a fixed 3%) of annual per-pupil allocations from state and local funds for each chartered school it authorizes.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
