Amends Mississippi Code Section 97-37-5 to allow persons convicted of nonviolent felonies to legally possess and use firearms and deadly weapons five (5) years after completing all sentencing requirements, including payment of fines, fees, assessments, and restitution.

Defines "nonviolent felony" as any felony not listed in Section 97-3-2(1) or designated as violent by the judge at sentencing.

Maintains existing prohibitions on firearm possession for those convicted of violent felonies unless they receive a pardon, federal relief from disability, or a state certificate of rehabilitation.

Preserves the certificate of rehabilitation process allowing courts to discretionally restore firearm rights for any felony conviction upon finding the applicant has been rehabilitated and poses no danger to public safety.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
