Amends Mississippi Code Section 97-29-45 to create enhanced penalties for telecommunication or electronic harassment crimes committed against first responders and public safety telecommunicators while acting within the scope of their duty.

First offense against covered persons (law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, or public safety telecommunicators) punishable by fine up to $1,000 and/or up to 1 year in county jail.

Second offense within 8 years against covered persons elevated to felony with fine up to $5,000 and/or up to 3 years in state penitentiary.

Maintains existing penalties for harassment of non-first responders: first offense up to $500 fine or 6 months jail; second offense within 5 years up to $1,000 fine or 1 year jail; third or subsequent offense within 5 years up to $2,000 fine or 2 years penitentiary.

Effective July 1, 2025.
