Allows persons already receiving Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) retirement benefits who are elected to the Legislature to continue receiving those benefits while serving as a legislator, in addition to regular legislative compensation.

Allows current legislators who are eligible for PERS retirement to begin receiving retirement benefits while still serving in office without having to resign.

Persons receiving retirement allowance while serving as a legislator shall not be active PERS members and shall not accrue additional creditable service for that period of legislative service.

Persons receiving retirement allowance while serving as a legislator must pay the full employee contribution amount on their legislative compensation, though this payment does not earn additional service credit.

Effective date: July 1, 2025.
