Increases the maximum annual salary for criminal investigators from $63,000 to $75,000, with discretion granted to district attorneys based on qualifications, education, and experience.

Raises the authorized annual salary supplement for criminal investigators from $5,000 to $10,000, payable monthly from office-generated funds, county/municipal funds, federal funds, grants, or interlocal cooperative agreements.

Allows criminal investigators with law degrees to receive additional supplementation from district attorney discretionary funds, but not exceeding the maximum salary for a legal assistant.

Requires district attorneys to report supplemental salary amounts and sources to county boards of supervisors, the Department of Finance and Administration, and the Legislative Budget Office.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
