Senate Bill 2553 Summary

• Amends Section 27-7-15 of the Mississippi Code to exclude all compensation and income of any kind received by honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces from state gross income for tax purposes.

• The veteran income tax exemption is in addition to any other exemptions already provided under Mississippi income tax law.

• Effective January 1, 2025.
