School districts must report to the State Department of Education by July 1, 2025, and annually by June 15 thereafter on transfer request criteria, tuition fees, and available capacity for transfer students by grade level and specialized program.

Districts must report by June 30 annually the total number of transfer students accepted, applications accepted or rejected by sending district, and reasons for each rejection.

The State Department of Education must adopt a policy and system for reporting and make district transfer information available to all districts.

Sections 37-15-29, 37-15-31, and 37-151-93 of Mississippi Code are brought forward regarding student transfer provisions, employee-dependent transfers, geographic proximity transfers, and funding formulas for transferred students.

The act takes effect July 1, 2025.
