Amends Section 23-15-153 of Mississippi Code to allow county boards of supervisors to authorize an additional $35.00 per diem payment to election commissioners for their work on election days (primary, runoff, general, or special elections).

The discretionary $35.00 addition is optional for each county board of supervisors and paid from county general funds, in addition to the base $165.00 election day per diem.

Election commissioners must complete and sign a per diem claim form certifying hours worked, which becomes a public record available for inspection and subject to contest by any person.

Successful contestants of inaccurate per diem claims are entitled to recover all contest expenses and reasonable attorney's fees from the commissioner and county jointly and severally.

The act takes effect July 1, 2025.
