Brings forward Section 43-21-255 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, which governs the confidentiality of law enforcement records involving children, for purposes of possible amendment.

Establishes that law enforcement and youth court records involving children remain confidential except as specifically provided by law.

Allows photography and fingerprinting of children taken into custody for felonies or offenses involving dangerous weapons or firearms, with copies maintained locally only and returned after identification purposes.

Permits law enforcement agencies, youth court officials, and school officials to release records of children charged with felonies or weapon offenses without a court order, requiring signed confidentiality agreements and prohibiting use for any purpose other than criminal or juvenile law enforcement.

Makes records public and non-confidential for children convicted as adults or adjudicated delinquent twice for sex offenses as defined by Section 45-33-23; effective July 1, 2025.
