MS SB2810

Amends Mississippi Code Section 27-65-111 to add a new sales tax exemption for retail grocery sales occurring on the Saturday or Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Defines "groceries" for this exemption as food or drink for human consumption that is eligible for purchase with federal food stamps (USDA or other federal agency).

Exemption applies to sales occurring at any time during the Saturday or Sunday immediately preceding Thanksgiving Day.

Effective date is July 1, 2025.
