MS SB2857

Increases the maximum grant amount from the Small Municipalities and Limited Population Counties Fund from $250,000 to $1,000,000 per grant period for eligible small municipalities and limited population counties.

Defines "small municipality" as a Mississippi municipality with population of 10,000 or less, including municipal historical hamlets.

Defines "limited population county" as a Mississippi county with population of 30,000 or less, based on the most recent federal decennial census.

Allows grants to be used for highways, streets, roadways, bridges, sidewalks, utilities, airfields, airports, equipment acquisition, real property acquisition and improvements, and other MDA-approved projects.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
