All medical facilities, law enforcement agencies, crime laboratories, and other facilities that receive or store sexual assault evidence kits must submit an annual report to the Attorney General by September 1 of each year.

Facilities must report the total number of untested kits in their possession and provide specific information for each kit including category, whether assault was reported, and detailed status tracking dates throughout the chain of custody.

Reports must include the total number of kits held for more than 30 days, the total number of kits destroyed with reasons for destruction, and for crime labs, whether DNA profiles were entered into CODIS and other required databases.

The Attorney General must compile all facility reports into a statewide summary report, list any agencies or facilities that failed to participate, publish the report on the Attorney General's website, and submit it to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2025.
