Removes the requirement that aggravated DUI be committed "in a negligent manner" from Mississippi Code Section 63-11-30(5), making it easier to prosecute aggravated DUI cases.

Aggravated DUI now applies when a person operates a motor vehicle while impaired and causes death, mutilation, disfigurement, or permanent disability to another person, regardless of whether negligence is proven.

Penalties for aggravated DUI remain 5-25 years in the Department of Corrections custody for each victim harmed, with sentences potentially running consecutively.

Special provision for underage drivers with 0.08% or higher blood alcohol concentration who cause death or serious injury also subject to 5-25 year sentences without requirement to prove negligence.

Effective July 1, 2025.
