Requires circuit and chancery court reporters to be paid an annual salary (changed from "may" to "shall") by the Administrative Office of Courts.

Increases maximum authorized annual salaries to $59,400 for reporters with 5 years or less experience, $70,200 for those with 5-10 years experience, and $76,800 for those with 10 or more years experience.

Allows official court reporters to engage in freelance reporting activities for matters outside their appointed court's jurisdiction, provided they have no delinquent work and their attendance is not required.

Prohibits use of government-owned equipment and reimbursement of travel or related expenses for freelance reporting activities.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
