Extends sympathy of the Mississippi Senate and House to the family of former State Senator and Presiding Judge of the Mississippi Court of Appeals John James Frasier, Jr., who passed away on July 4, 2024.

Frasier served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a top turret gunner on a B-24 bomber, completing missions over Germany, Austria, Romania, Yugoslavia and Northern Italy and earning the Air Medal with clusters.

Served as State Senator for eight years beginning in 1975, chairing the Senate Education Committee and serving as Vice Chairman of Judiciary; authored or co-authored major legislation including the 16th Section Land Reform Act and Education Reform Act.

As the first Chief Judge of the Mississippi Court of Appeals (established 1994), helped reduce appellate case processing time from 1,031 days to 220 days; received an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Mississippi State University in 2020.

Resolution directs that copies be presented to Frasier's family, forwarded to The Mississippi Bar, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
