Senate Concurrent Resolution 534

• Recognizes Janet Davis for her outstanding track and field career as a Gentry High School and Florida State University athlete from Indianola, Mississippi.

• Honors her achievements including being the #1 nationally recruited athlete, winning multiple state championships in the 100, 200, and 400 meters, and never losing a state championship race from 1981-1983.

• Documents her accomplishments as a six-time All-American at Florida State University, member of the 1984 NCAA Championship Team, and participant in the 1984 Olympic Trials.

• Notes her induction into Gentry High School Hall of Fame and retirement of her track jersey, along with national records and rankings in Track & Field News magazine.

• Directs that the resolution be presented to Janet Davis and forwarded to Gentry High School administration and the Sunflower County Board of Education.
