Senator John A. Polk, District 44, received the Mississippi Meritorious Civilian Service Medal from the Mississippi National Guard on March 7, 2025, for outstanding achievement in support of the National Guard.

The medal is the highest civilian award that can be bestowed by the Mississippi National Guard.

Senator Polk was recognized for his leadership in fostering partnership between the Mississippi Legislature and the National Guard, providing unprecedented support and investment to soldiers, airmen, families, and civilians.

The Mississippi Senate acknowledges and recognizes Senator Polk's outstanding leadership and extends best wishes to him and his family.

The resolution directs that this recognition be presented to Senator Polk in conjunction with the medal presentation, forwarded to the Adjutant General, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
