Mourns the passing of Huey P. Williams, lead singer of The Jackson Southernaires, who died March 24, 2025, in Smithdale, Mississippi.

Recognizes Williams as a trailblazer in traditional gospel music who performed for over five decades and was part of a family of gospel musicians including his brothers Frank (Mississippi Mass Choir founder) and the Grammy-nominated Williams Brothers.

Acknowledges The Jackson Southernaires' achievements including signing with Malaco Records in 1975, charting regularly on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums list, winning three consecutive Gospel Music Workshop of America awards, earning a Stella Award in 1989, and receiving a Grammy nomination in 1992.

Notes the group's Jackson street renaming in 2010 (Jackson Southernaires Drive) and their induction into the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame.

Directs presentation of the resolution to The Jackson Southernaires in honor of their continuing musical and cultural legacy.
