Amends Section 29-9-9, Mississippi Code of 1972, to clarify that purchases from sales of obsolete personal property by either house of the Legislature or a legislative agency do not violate Section 25-4-105(3)(b) ethics laws

Applies to vehicles, equipment, office furniture, fixtures, and other personal property that has become obsolete or is no longer needed by state institutions, departments, or agencies

Property may be sold for cash, transferred, traded, exchanged, or donated after receiving written approval from the Governor's Office of General Services and State Auditor, or approval by the Legislative Budget Office for legislative property

Proceeds from cash sales must be paid into the support, maintenance, or contingent fund of the selling institution, department, or agency

Takes effect upon passage
