Declares September 27th as Hiram Revels Day in Mississippi to honor the first African American to serve in either house of the United States Congress

Hiram Revels was elected by the Mississippi Legislature to represent the state in the U.S. Senate during 1870 and 1871 during the Reconstruction era

The designation is for recognition and observation only and does not establish a legal holiday

Amends Section 3-3-7 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, which governs the state's designated holidays and commemorative days

Takes effect July 1, 2026
