Authorizes sheriffs and chief deputies in any Mississippi county to use radar speed detection equipment on public roads and highways located outside incorporated municipality limits

Currently, radar speed detection is restricted to Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol and municipal law enforcement officers meeting specific population thresholds

Limits the county-level radar authority to the sheriff and the specific chief deputy who assists with official duties under Section 19-25-19, not all deputies

Existing law permits municipal radar use in cities with populations of 2,000+ (minimum 1,500), campus police at schools with 2,000+ students, and cities over 15,000 on federal highways

Effective date is July 1, 2026
