Trustees of revocable trusts for non-Mississippi residents may publish notice to creditors in any county where the decedent owned real property in the state, rather than being limited to the county of last residence

Filing an affidavit and proof of publication with the chancery clerk provides the same legal finality as if trust assets had been formally probated and a court order discharged an executor or administrator

Claims presented to trustees must contain substantially the same information as required for probate claims under Section 91-7-149

The bill amends Section 91-8-504 of the Mississippi Code regarding creditors' claims against settlors of trusts

Effective date is July 1, 2026
