Increases the number of full-time legal assistants (assistant district attorneys) in Mississippi's First Circuit Court District from 10 to 12 positions.

Amends Section 25-31-5 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, which governs staffing levels for all 22 circuit court districts in the state.

The First Circuit Court District may also employ up to 2 additional legal assistants if the Legislature appropriates funds or if county boards of supervisors agree to cover all associated costs.

Effective date is July 1, 2026.
