Appropriates $4,678,350 from the State General Fund to the Office of State Public Defender for fiscal year 2027 (July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027)

Authorizes 25 permanent positions with no time-limited positions, including $446,521 designated for three full-time assistant public defenders

Allocates $422,500 for the Indigent Parental Representation program to contract with attorneys representing indigent parents in abuse, neglect, or termination of parental rights proceedings

Provides $235,926 for a Youth Defender and legal assistant position to support training, technical services, and appellate representation for juveniles

Reappropriates $30,000 for the Hinds County Public Defender's Office and $200,000 for the Rural Legal Defense Pilot Program from the Capital Expense Fund
