Authorizes mileage reimbursement for any poll manager or other person present at a voting precinct who is required by the registrar to return to the registrar's office after polls close on election day

Mileage reimbursement applies to travel exceeding 10 miles and is paid at the federal employee rate for privately owned vehicle use on official travel

Current law already provides poll managers $125 base pay per election, with boards of supervisors able to add up to $75 additional compensation

Existing mileage reimbursement of up to $25 per precinct continues for poll managers who deliver or return ballots, ballot boxes, and pollbooks

Effective date: July 1, 2026
