Requires law enforcement officers responding to traffic accidents that block one or more lanes to provide reasonable notification to approaching motorists within 1,295 feet (one-quarter mile) of the crash site

Acceptable notification methods include: stationing an officer with activated blue lights at the required distance, placing visible signage along the right-of-way every 500 feet, or requesting digital overhead sign warnings

Officers may use discretion to physically signal motorists from the roadway shoulder to decrease speed and proceed with caution through the accident scene

Notification requirement does not apply when the responding officer determines it is neither possible nor practicable under the circumstances to provide such notice
