Defines identity theft as using someone's personal information to obtain goods, money, or anything of value without authorization

Allows identity theft victims to send certified mail to creditors requesting debt forgiveness and removal from credit reports, with creditors having 60 days to comply

Enables victims to petition chancery court if creditors fail to respond, requiring a sworn petition stating they did not incur the debt, had no knowledge of it, filed a police report, and received no benefit from it

Courts may order creditors to release victims from all debt obligations and authorize victims to request removal of the debt from their credit history

Takes effect July 1, 2026
