Managed care organizations (MCOs) under Mississippi's Medicaid program would be prohibited from transferring an enrolled beneficiary to another MCO or to a fee-for-service provider more than once within any 12-month period

Exceptions to the one-transfer-per-year limit would be allowed only when there is a significant medical reason for an additional transfer, as determined by the Division of Medicaid

The restriction would apply to all managed care programs implemented by the Division of Medicaid

This bill amends Section 43-13-117 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, which governs Medicaid coverage and reimbursement policies
