Doubles the minimum fine for littering from $50 to $100 and increases the maximum fine from $250 to $500

Doubles the mandatory assessment collected on each littering violation from $50 to $100, with proceeds going to the Law Enforcement Officers Monument Fund and later to scholarships for children of deceased or disabled law enforcement officers and firemen

Fines for second or subsequent littering offenses are doubled from the new base amounts

Motor vehicle operators are held responsible when litter is thrown from their vehicle

Fine proceeds must be used for local litter prevention programs or school litter education programs as recommended by Keep Mississippi Beautiful, Inc.
