Increases the homestead exemption from ad valorem taxes for homeowners aged 65 and older from $7,500 to $12,500 of assessed property value, effective January 1, 2027.

Applies to qualified homeowners who have reached 65 years of age on or before January 1 of the year for which the exemption is claimed.

Reimbursement for the increased exemption begins in the 2028 calendar year for exemptions claimed in 2027.

Amends Section 27-33-75 of the Mississippi Code of 1972.

Takes effect July 1, 2026.
