Northwest Mississippi Community College Cheer Team won 1st place in three divisions at the 2026 UCA and UDA College National Championships in Orlando, Florida: Open Co-Ed Game Day (back-to-back title), Open All-Girl Cheer (three-peat title), and Open Small Coed Cheer

The team also earned 2nd place in the Open All-Girl Game Day division

Under Head Coach Brandon Casey and Assistant Coach Rainy Bordelon, the program has now achieved nine national championships total

The Mississippi Legislature formally commends the team and directs copies of the resolution be sent to the coaches, college President Dr. Michael Heindl, and the Capitol Press Corps
