Director John B. Miller is commended upon his retirement after 35 years of service with the Biloxi Police Department, where he was appointed Director of Police in December 2009

Miller rose through the ranks holding positions of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain before becoming Director, and graduated first in his class from the Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy

Leadership roles include Board Chairman of the Regional Organized Crime Information Center, former President of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police, and member of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force

Awards received include the Medal of Merit, Medal of Valor, two Distinguished Service Medals, and the Mississippi Crime Stoppers Lifetime Achievement Award
