John E. Hardy earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Jackson State University in 1978 and served 36 years as General Manager of The University Club in downtown Jackson

Currently serves as Executive Director of the 100 Black Men of Jackson, Inc., receiving the 2024 Executive Director of the Year Award for his work empowering African-American youth through mentorship and educational programs

Certified Dining Etiquette Instructor who has trained over 200 students and parents, teaching courses at public schools, colleges, Jackson Police Training Academy, and Mississippi Highway Patrol Training Academy

Held leadership positions on multiple boards including Jackson Convention Center Commission, Leadership Jackson Board (chairman), North Mid-Town Community Development Board (founding member and chairman), and Mississippi Food Network Board

Received numerous honors including the JSU College of Business Distinguished Alumni Award (2009), Phi Beta Sigma Image Award in Business (2011), and JSU Division of Athletics Above & Beyond Award (2013)
