JPS-Tougaloo Early College High School Mock Trial Team achieved a championship sweep at the Magnolia Bar Association Mock Trial Competition, with their three teams taking first, second, and third place

The team earned third place at the Mississippi Bar High School Mock Trial Competition in January 2025

JTECHS was established by Jackson Public Schools in partnership with Tougaloo College in August 2018, with the mock trial program formed in Spring 2023 under Principal Ashley Molden

Team members Clarissa Coleman and Marvin Sanders, Jr. were recognized as two of the top three attorneys in the Magnolia Bar competition, with Coleman receiving additional honors at the Mississippi Bar championship

The team is coached by attorneys Gayla Carpenter-Sanders and Catouche Body (both Tougaloo College alumni) and teachers Felisha Burton and Alexandria Drake
